Resort Highlights

Skiing in Borovets

Skiing in Borovets is ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers, with wide, tree-lined runs, modern lift systems and a relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for building confidence. The resort offers 58 km of well-maintained pistes across three interconnected ski areas, with reliable snow conditions supported by extensive snowmaking. More advanced skiers can enjoy steeper red and black runs on the higher slopes, while the friendly village atmosphere and short transfer from Sofia make Borovets an excellent choice for school ski trips.

Activities Beyond the Slopes

Obertauern offers a range of simple but enjoyable alpine activities that make the most of its mountain setting. The resort has scenic winter walking routes that loop through the snow-covered landscape, offering a quieter way to explore the area and take in the views. Tobogganing is also a popular option, providing a fun group activity away from the pistes.

In the evenings, the compact village centre has a selection of shops, cafés and traditional mountain huts where groups can relax and experience local Austrian food and culture. The overall atmosphere is calm but lively enough to keep students engaged after a day on the slopes.
